Hi Peppe,
let us work together on a solution described in
http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/jump-pilot/index.php?title=Improve_measurement_tool
-> integrate all measure tools at one place in the GUI. The actual
dropdownbutton is from my point of view the best solution. We have to
check how can we merge your and my code. I can than extent
dropdownbutton stuff for easy integration of multiple measure tools. But
this is an solution for 1.8! At the moment was the print functionallity
more important for some of my projects.
After the FOSSGIS conference i will take a look in your code to search
for a integration solution.

OpenJUMP 1.7 - Improve measure tools.
I tried to modify AdvancedmeasureTool by Matthias with scarce result.
Actually my idea is to add a submenu on OpenJUMP Layer Menu and add
there angle measure tools from my MeasurePlugIn (Measure angle by 3
points, Measure angle by goniometer and Measure Azimuth) plus Measure
By Feet plugin plus a link to Matthias Advanced Measure tools.
It is a minimalist solution but I avoid to deeply modify Matthias's work.
This solution will separate the classes and help me in the future (OJ
1.8?) to add option to measure either using projected or geographic
coordinates (using some modified Vincentine's formulas).
Tecnically I will be able to add these elements in a couple of weeks,
all the codes are available at my sourceforge repository
(http://sourceforge.net/projects/opensit/files/Openjump/PlugIn/MeasureExtension/)

there is a minor issue with layer context menu separators. but no
general objections here.

some work so badly under construction that it is better to wait?
