Summary: Shapefile Add Error

Initial Comment:
The shapefile attached throws an error in OJ.

Note: File seems to work fine in other GIS (e.g. ArcGIS).

System x86 win 7
Version: OJ 1.5.0

Message:
I tried again with a smaller file < 250 fields and ALL OK.

Fields > 250 worked with ArcGIS because ESRI must truncate after 255
fields. This was a GeoServer dump from PostGIS with approx 500 fields.

quote:
"The maximum number of fields is 255. A conversion to shapefile will
convert the first 255 fields if this limit is exceeded."

I would say that it won't fix and we can close this.

Message:
Conversion with ogr2ogr to another shapefile was successful, but a warning
was printed on a screen

C:\temp>ogr2ogr -f "ESRI Shapefile" locust_gdal.shp locust.shp
Warning 1: Creating a 256th field, but some DBF readers might only support
255 fields

Perhaps the number of fields in the schema is the reason for the issue.
