yeah, a result of the global shortcut interpretation, the idea is that you can 
have activated any OJ frame (attribute, editing tools ...) but the shortcuts 
work regardless
side effect, they work, even if the plugins windows is already opened.. have to 
think about how to prevent that

we had that discussion and couldn't find a valid replacement.. do you remember?

open to suggestions.. although, i do not see why we should overly react to 
Ubuntu reserving Alt, because
A) i do not see how we are going to detect that it is Ubuntu and no other Linux
B) i feel it is insolent of Ubuntu to prevent GUI apps to use Alt altogether
