Hi, I have two use cases in my mind, do you believe your work could help in solving these?
- Create simple density maps (heatmaps) from point data. A nice browser example is here: http://sloweb.org.uk/ollie/heatmap/ However, I would like to see a bit more advanced tool which would use the attributes too so that if two person died in one accident it would look on a map alike than two accidents with one victim each. - Visualise geotiffs which contain z-values by applying user defined colour ramps. -Jukka Rahkonen- Alberto De Luca wrote: > Hi everyone, > back in 2010 I did a bit of work to help improving the raster support > capabilities of OpenJUMP (basically to add support for ESRI ASCII and > Floating Point grid formats). > Now I may have the resources to go further on with raster support by: > - adding a tool to query raster values (possibly to be integrated with > the Feature Info tool); > - improving the Raster Color Editor (to include legends by single > values, ramps and classes); > - fixing problems related to raster with negative coordinates; > - adding raster writing capabilities (at least for geotiffs, ESRI ASCII > and ESRI Floating Point grids); > - improving the support for nodata values (they should be shown as > transparent by default); > - fixing layer cut/copy/paste tools (they don't work with raster layers); > - improving display speed for big rasters. > These enhancements should make OJ able to fully support plug-ins > involving rasters (both in input and output). > What do you think, shall we proceed?
