Hi,

That's good to see so much activity around OpenJUMP release ;o)
There has been a small lack of coordination, partly because
I did not want to miss the osgeo-live-dvd distribution opportunity
but did not know exactly what the constraints were.

Now we have version 1.5.0 released (based on svn 2588, already 30
downloads).
Hopefully, it is quite stable and has less bug than any previous version
Ede managed a new script for osgeo-dvd release and made some
significative improvments in the whole distribution procedure
Stefan tagged version 1.5.0 (and version 1.4.2, thanks !) using 2597 svn
revision.

So let's go ahead and start working on 1.5.1

// 1.5.0
About 1.5.0, I thing we should re-create a tag based on 2588 (sorry Stefan,
I wanted to do it but was waiting the end of the week-end to make sure no
major problem was found in 1.5.0 distro). Can I let you do so ?
I still have to add a plus version (also based on svn 2588 to be consistent)
I think we can postpone the windows installer to whenever we are ready
(Ede planned to work on it) and try to have something done at least for
1.5.1 (see below)

// osgeo
Now that we started the work and made sure we can upgrade OpenJUMP,
we still have a few weeks to make things uptodate, stable, clean...
Ede, I think you are the more capable to organize things for the new
installer.
I just suggest that the target OJ version for the final dvd distribution
be 1.5.1
(which will include, at least, all commits between 2588 and 2598 + new
language files)
It will take me some time to check your work. I can commit your new script
to osgeo svn, but I'd prefer you to ask the commit rights so that you
can make
sure that commits are consistent.

// 1.5.1
IMHO, we can already change version to 1.5.1 in the source (remember
that z of x.y.z is for bug-fix release and that it's quite usual that a .0
version is followed by a .1 version soon after)
I finally think that it could be useful to have a 1.5.1 branch until
february
where one of us could commit safe updates from trunk (ex language files,
small fixes...) to be sure to have a rock solid version of OJ for the dvd

Sorry for the long mail
Any comment is welcome.

Michaël

Ridiculously easy VDI. With Citrix VDI-in-a-Box, you don't need a complex
infrastructure or vast IT resources to deliver seamless, secure access to
virtual desktops. With this all-in-one solution, easily deploy virtual
desktops for less than the cost of PCs and save 60% on VDI infrastructure
costs. Try it free! http://p.sf.net/sfu/Citrix-VDIinabox
