Hi Michael,
thanks for your availability. I think it is better to leave everything as it is,
I was wondering if it was possible to have a combo box with the scale 
elsewhere: on the bottom bar (like gvsig) or on layer tree panel (like Kosmo). 
I will study the structure of tree panel.
