 Yes, indeed, I use Groovy as a compiled language. Here is a simple example
for a UnionByAttributePlugIn.

The few commented lines at the top of the Groovy code is code in Ruby. I use
JRuby to test my plugins in OpenJUMP.
Advantage: I don't need to restart OpenJUMP when I made changes in my Groovy
sourcecode.
Just need to deploy the new jars via an Ant script and rerun the JRuby
script.
