Hei, yes.. . The Pirol CSV plugin does exactly this. . The plugin example I once did is rather inflexible in terms of format assumptions (I think it needed tab delimited text and the coordinates first).. however I used it as an example for writing an own plugin: http://openjump.org/wiki/show/How+to+display+customer+xyz+data+from+a+file
So if the Pirol PlugIn does not work. Tell us.
