I was contacted by a college student in Brazil that was interested in participating in the Google Summer of Code this year, under the OSGeo umbrella. Do we have any Spanish speakers that could help me mentor the student? I'm afraid my Spanish is much worse than his English, and that communication would be a challenge for us without some help.
The student's name is Leandro. His idea for Summer of Code is "a implementation of a graphical modeling tool for processing geographic data with the Open Jump in Java." Perhaps this would be a good idea to extend OpenJUMP's reach into Brazil, which seems to be a country that supports FOSS?
