Hie Paul, yes. I removed it, because it seemed to be unnecessary to have a function that simply deleted all items of a layer (I never use it). If there is need to one can instead select all layer object and use the remove item function (i.e. 2 steps instead of one)
for what cases do you need it? is it frequent?
