mhm.. a new branch could be done, but I would opt for feature freeze. 
However, some of the open items contain features to add (plugins)

difficult question, we should look on the bug list and look for the 
importance ranking.
On the most prominent items: as you see in the TODO list, some of the 
issues are rather things which we should not forget and (my) proposals 
for changes.

no.. not really as we did not re-evaluated the bug list and changed the 
priotity of bugs

yep.. that should be doable if the additional features are added (even 
since I originally planned to do the release in December)

It should not be a problem if I compile the several (win-installer) 
versions on my PC again as for the other release. I.e. this time should 
be available for sure. Just ask me.
