In general I agree that we could move to OJ 1.3. But before the release 
I would also like to see some points solved first. For instance the 
integration of file formats and cleaning up of the layer menu that you 
mentioned. As you suggested. Also the ECW bug needs to be checked (dont 
know if it ever worked correctly as I am not using ECW).

Can you put the list below on the wiki - TODO list for the next release?
so we will not forget.

Making a true OJ 1.3 release would require at least 2 weeks for us all 
to work on some of the open issues (i.e. bugs, translations, menu 
structure correction). I am not sure if we will find these two weeks 
soon (Actually I found the Code Spirit a nice idea, since one works 
concentrated on it). But we could plan/try to get the release done until 
Christmas.
