Paul, I can't think of any other references that are created as part of a typical Feature object.
However, anti-typical Feature objects might contain Objects as one or more of their attributes, and these "custom" attributes could have all types of other references. I don't think this happens a lot, but I have heard of it. (For example, I know that some developers store an additional JTS geometry in an "Object attribute".
