I wanted to address another topic from the thread earlier today. I
think cleaning up the import statements in OpenJUMP, especially if
this could be done in an automated fashion, is a great idea for some
of the reasons that have already been mentioned.

It seems there might be some concern about this breaking things. I
think the RoadMatcher plug-in and BeanShell functionality was
mentioned specifically.

I think we are moving towards the creation of an unstable branch for
OpenJUMP. (I need to run this by Stefan, of course.) :] If we do
create an unstable branch in the OpenJUMP CVS we can test the import
statement clean-up there. (Or someone can make the changes and tell us
if the RoadMatcher plug-in and BeanShell functionality still work.)
