Dear OpenJump users and developers,

we (that is Intevation[1] and latlon[2] in Germany)
are currently planning the implementation of a new
OpenJump plugin for WFS functionality.

Actually this means to separate the WFS functionality out
of deeJUMP and make this a stand-alone Plugin for OpenJUMP
and compatible derivates. This plugin will therefore use deegree.jar.

In order to avoid scattered developement,
we like to manage the source code in the
OpenJUMP respository. IMHO this supports
OpenJump to establish a central hub
for all related developments.

The name is not fixed yet, how about "WFSPlugin"?

Background of this development is a small commercial contract
we received. We hope to make the tool as generally helpful as
possible. Any joined efford is welcome. The main activity phase
will be april/may/june this year.

All the best

        Jan
