As part of my plan to release Small Business Edition of OpenJUMP in June
2008 I will be working on a user manual for OpenJUMP. The manual will be
based partly on the original user manual written by Vivid Solutions, and
also on the great OpenJUMP Basics tutorial that has already been written. I
am currently in the process of obtaining estimates for the printing and
binding of hard copies of the manual.
I will still be working on the new feature documentation on Monday, and will
be setting aside some additional time on Tuesdays to work on the user
manual. I want to set up a documentation system that will allow me to
produce the manual in PDF format, but also in a format that can be
incorporated into an online help system. I still need to give some thought
to this.
If the folks at Kosmo or SIGLE are intersted in this User Manaul they can
get in touch with me. I have no problem setting up the manual so it could
serve as the basis for "brand-specific" editions. We might even be able to
do this using a subversion repository. I'd also like to work with anyone
interseted in translating the manual to a language other than English.
I'll post more details when I get the system to manage the documentation
established.
