I did some reading of past e-mails and realized that Larry Becker had posted
a patch for our Ant script that will correct the problem with the Manifest
file. Integrating his patch into OpenJUMP's build file should simplify the
actions needed to start OpenJUMP on the different platforms, and may remove
the need for start-up scripts altogether. (I believe Larry siad no start-up
scripts are needed to start SkyJUMP.)
Another user had posted something to the JUMP list that mentioned using
JUMP's <manifest> task to do the same thing. Do you have any comments on
this Larry?
I will be adding this patch to the Ant build file for JUMP this week or next
as part of my work on the next official release. If you no of other fixes
that need to be made to the Ant script please let me know as soon as you
can.
What do you guys think of a "jump start" program for OpenJUMP that presents
a simple GUI that allows users to choose the start-up options for the
program. (Things like the look and feel and the plug-in directory...)

You are right Stefan, there is something on the wiki about building
OpenJUMP. I will take a look at that before I start something new. If I do
something additional, I will include that information.
I'm going to see if I can get the manifest information ironed out.
Thank you for the help.
