i have only been to the workshops... (OJ and QGIS) and theys have been quite interessting => Erwan and Arnaud did a very good job. They explained jump tools which i have not known before and needs to be part of the core. Qgis seems also of interesst for many people in terms of beeing a database dataviewer and analysis interface to Grass. So it plays somehow (currently) in a different sector than we do with our editing and analysis capabilities. But it got quite god attention by US people. Today has started the real conference... would be nice to be there, but i dont have time. maybe the others report more?
actually we shortly discussed yesterday what plans Ugo/ Lat-Lon has (enhancing/changing the feature to be more degree compatible). It was not yet clear what Arnauds and Erwans plans are, but Erwan will start to work more with gvSIG, since he will maintain a new project in his new job. We also discussed the problem that gvSig and Kosmo took a lot of code from Jump without publishing their source-code until now. Btw. gvSIG is supported with millions by the spanish region of Valencia, to build a System which is a strong as ESRIs arcview or even more. I think in future vividsoultions needs to have a look on the projects, to serve their own rights. Upps.. i just saw on the webpage of gvSIG that they publish their source-code.. fine! :) stefan Sunburned Surveyor wrote: >O.K. Thanks for the update Stefan.
