I'd like to know from its community how OpenJUMP deals with very large Raster images:
- Does it has some tiling strategy in order to put in memory the mininum area of the selected image?
- Is there any work to do a image paneling in a way similiar to google maps?
- Is there any zoom pyramid-based approach?
- Which Server of Maps does the community makes recommend? MapServer, GeoTools, other ones?
- Any experience with PIROL plugins?
And about geospatial vector data, are the spatial databases (like PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, MySQL GIS extensions) the best option to manipulate/search geometry entities?
I'll be very thankful for any kind of information, comment or experience shared. :)
