Thanks to some great and timely help from the IRC channel, I was able to
get bootstrapped on my private Openstack cloud. I have some thoughts on
how to make it easier in the future, which I'll save for a separate message.
james_w helped me on the IRC channel, but suggested I post this to the list
for an expert to review.
Once I got up and running and deployed the GUI on the bootstrap node, I
tried to deploy mysql. It failed with:
Error deploying mysqlCould not deploy the requested service. Server
responded with: cannot add unit 1/1 to service "mysql": cannot add unit to
service "mysql": index file has no data for cloud {RegionOne
https://URL:8770/v2.0/} not found
'juju metadata validate-images' also fails with:
ERROR index file has no data for cloud {RegionOne https://URL:8770/v2.0/}
not found
Resolve Metadata:

However 'juju metadata validate-tools' works:
