I'm not sure I agree; you're suggesting that every application be designed using exactly the same technique, irrespective of needs, resources, or simple convenience. This approach might be sensible for a development group that needs to spin out applications that all follow a similar form; a contract-development group exists at my university, and I believe they do use very similar approaches for all applications. However, the argument from "cognitive dissonance" seems unsubstantiated and a little fuzzy. What if, for instance, you predominantly design small applications?
