Jon what version of blockUI are you using? I think i just ran into similar problem yesterday when i upgraded jQuery to 1.4 and blockUI stopped working. but i solved it by upgrading blockUI to the newest version then everything worked again. i think the newest version was updated some time in Jan 2010
