usually when I bind a click event I do this.
unbind before bind
$(elm).unbind('click');
$(elm).bind("click", function() {
});
may be a modification like this
if(!$(elm).unbind('click')) {
$(elm).bind("click", function() {
alert("This element was only bound if it was not bound");
});
}
