Well, I almost have this working. I have uploaded a new test at http://www.martinschechtman.com/validateTest.html.
If you press submit with nothing selected in either of the dropdowns, there's only 1 warning. Just what I want. Then if you select something from the first dropdown, the warning goes away. Right on target. But if press select something from the second dropdown, the warning does NOT go away. Any recommendations would be welcome!
