Hey guys, due to corporate restrictions I couldn't share a link to the
live problem.  However I managed to solve the issue by doing a
separate fadeIn() of each element inside my <LI> and treating the one
with the opacity like Danny mentioned above:

$('elementToFade').find('div.opacity').css('filter','alpha
(opacity=80)').fadeIn();
