Thank you very much for the response. I did as you suggested and checked my logs for both a regular post (with full form submit and page load) and the ajax post, unfortunately, the logs didn't show anything conclusive - the URLs in both cases are logged unaltered and seem to be coming through just fine.
At this point, so I can move past this, I will likely dynamically format the post data into the URL of the ajax request and use the GET method. None of my forms submit much data. Non-optimum, but workable.
