Thanks for the quick response. I tried the new hover plugin (which works nicely and I will definitely be using) and discovered that it is not the solution to my problem. I am able to better describe the bug. It seems that in IE, the mouseout is prematurely triggered specifically when the mouse is no longer over the text in the dropdown menu, but as long as the mouse is over text, it seems to work fine.
