Thanks for the feedback. The Supersubs plugin is still in beta phase so clues as to when the font-size calculation (which is needed to to calculate the dynamic width) fails are much appreciated. I hope to get chance to get back to debugging Supersubs at some point in the future. Sorry I can't help much more, currently.
