I tested it in safe mode, and flickering still happens. Here's a more- or-less minimal test case that really demonstrates the problem: http://www.richardsimoes.com/test2.html
Scroll down to the very bottom and click "click me." The top should be flickering as the slide animation plays. It happens for me in both Firefox 2 and 3.
