NOW you tell us you're an experienced programmer... :-) I don't know about this specific book or the other one you ordered, but a lot of these JavaScript introductions are written for people who've never written a line of code.
For someone with programming experience, I recommend David Flanagan's JavaScript: The Definitive Guide. You need it anyway, whatever other books you get.
