There's nothing specific that can be given to you in terms of a direct comparison. The two libs do similar things. Designers tend to like it because of it's simplistic inline syntax for such things as data display but I find that to be intrusive and definitely not in line with progressive enhancement.
In addition, Spry does not have anywhere near the community support of the jQuery project, both in terms of user base or extensions.
Mind you, I'm a ColdFusion developer and a big supporter of Adobe but Spry isn't my lib of choice because I think jQuery offers more.
