i'm using jquery for most of javascript related things and i finally decided that i should do it better 8-) my plan is to improve my knowledge so i'm looking for some advanced books and i found: Learning jQuery: Better Interaction Design and Web Development with Simple JavaScript Techniques by Karl Swedberg and Jonathan Chaffer (Paperback - Jun 29, 2007) and Pro JavaScript Techniques (Pro) by John Resig (Paperback - Dec 11, 2006)
If you want an *advanced* JavaScript book, definitely go with John's Pro JavaScript Techniques. As Rey mentioned, David Flanagan's Definitive Guide is great, too. If you're already at an advanced level, Learning jQuery might be too elementary for you.
If you already have a firm handle on JavaScript/jQuery, but you're still looking for a book that is specific to jQuery, you might want to check out jQuery Reference Guide, which takes an in-depth look at every method, selector, etc. in the library with lots of discussion and examples. Also covers the full API of the Form and Dimensions plugins.
Note to all: Please don't worry about hurting my feelings if you think Aljosa should steer away from one (or both) of my books. Be honest. I can handle it. ;-)
also looking for a good advanced css book.
For advanced CSS, I really like CSS Mastery by Andy Budd --Karl _________________ Karl Swedberg www.englishrules.com www.learningjquery.com
