I just wanted to comment on something that seemed really out of place, though the openness of the community has already been addressed.
"People who are unwilling to become comfortable with the language they're working in (e.g., by using its available features, such as anonymous functions) shouldn't be working in the language. " This undermines the very use of jQuery for any purposes. jQuery is, obviously, just JavaScript after all.
