Guys,
I'd just like to interject. I think John has made his feelings about this issue pretty clear and for the immediate future, this isn't something that's going to be done; at least not by the jQuery team or the project. The reason I'm saying this is so we don't rehash a topic that's been extensively reviewed and discussed.
Obviously, if someone in the community wants to do this then by all means take a stab at it. :)
