swfIR, IIRC, is geared towards text, though. The only way I know of to do image rotation in JavaScript is with <canvas>[1] or SVG[2], both of which don't have enough browser support to make the effort worthwhile (assuming you're doing this for a public web site). Flash seems to be the best way to what you're looking for.
