That's a good find! :-)
Dojo converted their site to Drupal, so of course it uses jQuery just like
any Drupal 5 site does. But it's still interesting to see...
Its a good example of the differences between jQuery and Dojo.

Though, if we manage to improve integration of various jQuery plugins,
building web applications with jQuery can rely on (maybe) more carefully
crafted small components.
Another step in that direction could be the integration examples I'm
planning: How to use date/timepicker-, form-, masked input- and a few
other plugins in combination with validation.
