I'm subscribed via GMail and I still get spam on the list. I'm not sure what the magnitude of the problem is for you guys, but its around 1-2 per day (from what I can tell).
Google provides several options for the groups though that could help alleviate the problem, if it is to the point of detrimental. However, much like any type of access-control, each option comes with drawbacks: * could disable the listing of the group in Google Groups Directory (if its not already) con = less exposure * could set group joining to "People can request an invitation to join" (instead of "Anyone can join") con = more admin overhead, delayed joining (new users won't be able to instantly post). also, it might be hard to distinguish who is a legit request and who is not unless some sort of challenge-response is implemented. However I think the last option is probably the best: * could enable "Messages from new members are moderated" con = slight admin overhead On 4/18/07, Glen Lipka <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:

If Google is so good at getting rid of spam, why don't they block it UPHILL at the group. If Microsoft did this, there would be alot more complaining. Glen
