I would check out the qjuery version of ext http://extjs.com/ Its got some very nice looking sortable table features
Also the jquery plugin http://motherrussia.polyester.se/jquery-plugins/tablesorter/ You can also check out my jqpie http://projects.cyberlot.net/trac/jqpie/wiki/ExampleAuto, but its not near as complete as the above 2 examples, mine does support pages though.
