Position: Sr.Java Developer

Location: Dallas, Texas - Locals only

Duration: 6 Months Extendable

GC/Citizens/EAD

 

Job Description: 

Sr. Java Developer

 

Technical Tangibles:

·         Senior Developer on the project responsible for independently coming 
up with design and coding solutions.

·         Makes technical coding decisions on a daily basis independently

·         Makes technical design decisions on a daily basis independently under 
the scope of architectural guidance.

·         Took the initiative as the lead mentor for FMS mentees by drafting up 
and implementing the initial approach to get FMS mentees up to speed 
technically.

·         Has successfully taken new requirements from use case inception to 
fully integrated testing (included analysis, design, coding, testing).  Did 
this mostly independently with architectural guidance from the architects and 
other senior developers.  Has demonstrated this capability several times 
throughout the project.

·         Actively participates and contributes to team design sessions.  
Occasionally asked to lead design sessions in which he is presumed to be the 
expert.

·         Completes tasks on a timely basis and produces quality code even 
before code reviews are done by architects.

·         Demonstrated high competency at JSF and its advanced features.

·         Demonstrated high competency at Hibernate.

·         Demonstrated high competency at J2EE.

·         Demonstrated high competency in refactoring for better design and 
more maintainable code.  

·         Demonstrated high competency with UML, Design Patterns, Test Driven 
Development, Object Oriented Design, MVC patterns, and Domain Modeling.

·         Demonstrated high competency with PAM tools such as ClearCase, RAD, 
DB2, Ant, JUnit, Xplanner.

·         Demonstrated high competency at Agile principles and methodology.

·         Demonstrated high ability to adapt and learn new technologies (Web 
Services, WPS, MQ Series, Mainframe MVS).

·         Assists other team members with expert knowledge on tool and 
environmental issues when technical blocks occur.

·         Provides knowledge distribution by documenting technical solutions 
and tips. and sharing them to team members (wiki style documentation on share 
drive).

·         Ability to lead integration testing on a iteration basis.

·         Ability to lead design and implementation of a new use case with the 
necessary architectural guidance.

·         Demonstrated high competency for troubleshooting, identifying, and 
fixing bugs.

·         Demonstrated ability to provide task analysis, breakdown and 
estimation to management in order to make project forecasts.

·         Ability to communicate and interpret technical problems and solutions 
to business and other non technical entities

·         Ability to comprehend, understand and communicate technical problems 
and solutions with architects.  Architects have confidence in the understanding 
and decisions he makes.

·         Established a great professional relationship and friendship with 
team members and management. 

·         Demonstrated reliability in showing up to work on time and taking 
direction from management.

·         Willing to work extra hours reasonably when approaching milestones 
and deadlines.

·         Demonstrated eagerness and willingness to learn new technologies and 
take on new tasks.

·         Positive attitude and no history of conflict or personal issues with 
anyone on the team.  

·         Enjoys the project, work, and team members
