DESCRIPTION
Position: Senior 508 Tester
General Experience:
Extensive experience in the field of accessibility evaluation for
Section 508 compliance using screen readers.
1 Proven ability to work independently or under only general direction
on consulting, testing and process issues is required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Specific Knowledge and Experience:
Extensive experience using screen magnifier (MAGic), to test
Windows applications, Internet applications, and websites for compliance
with Section 508.
1 Some experience using screen reader (JAWS).
2 Strong knowledge of structured accessibility testing
methodologies that integrate automated testing manual testing, and usability
testing.
3 Strong knowledge of accessibility best practices.
Activities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Identify, document, rank, and classify Section 508 defects.
Identify, document and quantify overall application risks associated with
the existence of Section 508 compliance issues.
Effectively communicate orally and in writing.
Note: experience conducting testing for organizations such as the National
Federation of the Blind is considered a plus.
