@C0urante , @gharris1727 , I wanted to bring this issue to your attention which I had filed a while back. Essentially, the fix is similar to what was done for [KAFKA-9184](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KAFKA-9184) i.e to revoke assignments upon poll timeout expiry now to avoid duplicate tasks running. To Note that testing this was quite tricky using IT and I have written a test which seems to indicate that w/o this fix, we would have duplicate tasks running.
