https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KAFKA-15800 The JsonConverter may throw DataException when encountering malformed data. This causes part or all of the batch of ConsumerRecords from the KafkaBasedLog consumer to be dropped, corrupting the state of the KafkaOffsetBackingStore.
