You or anyone else is welcome to write some documentation.  You can
either make it a separate document or integrate it into the main one.
There's places where it talks about, eg, what Debian packages to
install and that is where things like what BSD packages or anything
specific to that OS could be plugged in.

The format is LaTeX but I can easily convert ASCII into it, or give you
a handful of commands so its near-enough LaTeX for starters. As an added 
bonus, if you have a sourceforge account you can maintain
the source files.

I'll leave it upto you which way you want to go with it.
