Hi, both Jenkins and Gerrit Community. we have just published the YouTube + transcript of the "Jenkins forever" presentation at the Gerrit User Summit 2017 in London: https://gitenterprise.me/2017/10/24/gerrit-user-summit-jenkins-forever/
Hopefully, it could be an inspiration for all of those who need to keep a very long history of build logs in Jenkins (like us from the Gerrit Code Review OpenSource project) and for those Jenkins Developers that are currently implementing the "long-term pluggable storage" for Jenkins build logs. As mentioned multiple times at the JenkinsWorld conferences, keeping logs in Jenkins is a real pain :-( - Slow down the Jenkins master response time - Overload the underlying filesystem Build logs are, however, a handy and precious source of information: removing them doesn't seem a viable solution for most of us. The solution we implemented at the Gerrit Code Review CI pipeline solves both problems, by leveraging Apache Spark and Google Cloud Storage. >From a user's perspective, it is all transparent; it allows to honor the >backlinks from the Gerrit Changes back to the Jenkins CI URL transparently. Happy watching of the video or, if you prefer to read, the reading of the talk transcript on my blog. Feedback and comments are more than welcome :-) Luca. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Jenkins Users" group.
