Hello,

We are considering using the Promoted Builds plugin to deploy artifacts to
target Linux servers in multiple environments using Jenkins slave agents.
We've configured the JNLP option for polling the master (using a static
port for JNLP communication) for updates. This is working really well for
us, but I'm not sure if this is a "best practice".

My questions are:

   - Is this method commonly used?
   - Are there significant network considerations for the slave agent
   constantly polling the master?
   - Are there security considerations with this approach?
   - Would it be more or less secure to promote over SSH with a key
exchange between master and slave servers?
      - Any additional considerations for using this method for deploying
      to production environment?

Thank you very much for your thoughts on this.

Nick.
