I bumped into an "out of PermGen space" report on Jenkins 1.509.4 recently, though mine was after upgrading the Git plugin to 2.0. Are you using Git plugin 2.0 as a new part of that upgrade, or were you already running Git plugin 2.0 before you upgraded?
