Line by line if there is no \n in the regular expression... And the console annotations are automatically removed if I remember correctly.
Seems something is not working in your example. Maybe the best thing is to debug it... Can you please create a new bug report and attach the console log and the parser information (there should be an XML file with that information in Jenkins root folder, look for a file with parser or warnings in its name) Ulli Am Freitag, 25.
