The warning is actually that if you upgrade to 1.4 you *may* have data loss
if you try to downgrade again.

There are two kinds of warning on the screen: the first and most common is
that it needs a newer version of Jenkins. The second is that it is not
backwards compatible.

The latest versions of Credentials, ssh credentials and ssh-slaves will all
work on Jenkins 1.466+ without issue... Just there is a data format change
in credentials and ssh-slaves so once you upgrade the data is migrated to
the new format, so you will loose data if you subsequently downgrade the
plugins (hence the warning)
