I have a little Groovy script that pulls the Maven artifact version and
stores it in an environment variable.

It is now obvious with all my jobs that I should probably centrally manage
and share that script so it isn't duplicated.

It seemed that the "Managed Script plugin" would be ideal.

However, I've installed the Managed Script Plugin and saved the Groovy
Script but when I try to add a pre or post-build build "Execute Manage
Script" task it says "No build templates are defined" and directs me to the
Manage Script page but I'm not sure what a build template is or why I would
need it.

Even if it did allow me to select that script, I'm not sure it will work
because I believe it needs to be a "Groovy System Script".

Thoughts? Is there a better way to manage a common Groovy system script?
