There is a coordinating job that needs to run too and coordinates all the 'child' jobs that run on the different nodes. With a 2x2 matrix you will have up to 5 jobs running during a matrix build: 1. The main build coordinator 2. R1C1 3. R1C2 4. R2C1 5. R2C2
The main build coordinator will start before any of the matrix entry jobs and will not finish until they all finish.
